The wait is finally over! Our first vehicle MV-K1.0 is here and rolling.

 

It was launched on 3rd January, 2023 on the occasion of convocation day of graduating class of 2020 and 2021 at the Open Air Theatre of Jadavpur University. 

The project was started in 2019. But unfortunately, due to coronavirus outbreak, we could only do virtual operations. The design was completed within November, 2020. Due to lockdown, campus was closed, so we could not start manufacturing the vehicle. So the project was put on hold till the re-opening of campus.

When campus re-opened in February, 2022 we started fund collection. Fund collection was our biggest challenge in this project. We approached several companies for a sponsorship, but since this was our first project, we did not have any thing physical to show them that might instill some confidence in them. In spite of all efforts, we failed to get a sponsorship.

Finally we contacted our alumni, our seniors who helped us by providing funds. This process continued for some two to three months. 

Finally when we had funds in hand, we started manufacturing process in month of September. The process was completed by the last week of 2022. Since this project was supported by the batch of 2021, we thought it will be a payback to them by launching this vehicle on their convocation day, which was 3rd January, 2023. 

It was a thrilling experience for all of us seeing the reaction of our seniors, and other faculty and non faculty members who helped us in our difficult times in this project.

Hopefully this vehicle will reach an upcoming event, if we are able to collect the funds.
